Zhenzhong Si presents the COVID-19 Pandemic’s Impacts on Food Security in China at the Just Food conference on June 14, 2021. The conference is the joint annual conference of the Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS), Agriculture, Food & Human Values Society (AFHVS), Canadian Association for Food Studies (CAFS) and The Society for the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (SAFN). Zhenzhong’s presentation is entitled “Measuring Food Insecurity During COVID-19 Lockdowns: Case Studies in Wuhan and Nanjing, China”. He discusses the level of food insecurity in Wuhan and Nanjing during the lockdown period in early 2020, the various coping strategies people use to ensure household food access and what it means for food policy making.
