MiFOOD partner S. Irudaya Rajan publishes new book on migration, COVID-19, and cities

MiFOOD partner and IIMAD Director Prof. S. Irudaya Rajan edits the newly released Handbook of Research on Migration, COVID-19 and Cities (Edward Elgar, 2024). This Handbook which includes 37 chapters explores the multifaceted impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on migrant populations such as international students, refugees, undocumented migrants and informal urban workers. It examines how migration and urbanization have been reshaped by the pandemic and emphasizes the pivotal role of governments and cities in crisis management.

MiFOOD partners contributed several chapters that provide critical, place-based analyses of how migrant communities experienced the pandemic:
