Irudaya Rajan Sebastian

S. Irudaya Rajan was a Former Professor at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Kerala (close 40 years of post-graduate experience) Currently, he is the chair of the KNOMAD (The Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development,)World Bank working group on internal migration and urbanization. He is one of the expert committee members to advise the Government of Kerala on Covid-19. He has published in international journals on social, economic, demographic, psychological and political implications of migration on individuals, community, economy and society. He is the editor of the annual series India Migration Report since 2010 and South Asia Migration Report since 2017 published by Routledge. Founder Editor in Chief, Migration and Devleopment (Taylor and Francis).

Sunitha Syamala

Dr Sunitha S is a trained demographer with more than 15 years of experience in the field of Ageing and Migration. Prior to joining IIMAD, she served for over 10 years as a Research Analyst at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and has been part of various research projects nationally and internationally. Sunitha holds a PhD in Demography from the University of Kerala. She has published her works in various books and journals on different demographic aspects. Her area of expertise includes International Migration, Ageing and Development.

H. Arokkiaraj

Dr. H Arokkiaraj worked as Postdoc fellow at Leibniz Science Campus, Leipzig, Germany. His interest is in migration and mobility. He holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Delhi. He worked as a research intern at the India Centre for Migration at the Ministry of External Affairs, India.

C. Valatheeswaran

Dr. C. Valatheeswaran is a postdoctoral fellow at Social Sciences Institute (MUSSI), National University of Ireland, Maynooth. He is currently working on the PANIWATER research project which is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. He did his Ph.D and M.Phil in Applied Economics at Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Trivandrum affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has published research papers related to migration studies in peer-reviewed international journals such as Migration Letters, International Migration, Refugee Survey Quarterly, Indian Journal of Labour Economics and Margin: The Applied Economic Research. He has also worked as a co-researcher on various research projects funded by European Union (EU), International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) Government of India, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Government of Kerala and Government of Tamil Nadu. His research interests include migration and refugee studies, labour economics, human capital, water and policy evaluation.

Anand Cherian

Anand's research and writing focus on Migration Spaces, Labour Migration, Urbanisation, Student mobility and Food Security. Anand graduated from Loyola College in Chennai with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree from Jadavpur University in Kolkata. His interests include anything from modern theatre to poetry

Nelgyn Tennyson

Nelgyn Tennyson holds a Masters in Applied Economics from Pondicherry University (PU) and Population Studies from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. Before joining IIMAD, he served as a Research Associate at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. For a short stint, he was an intern with the Reserve Bank of India, Chennai. Nelgyn enjoys innovative, collaborative and interdisciplinary research approaches in Population Ageing and Health Economics. His research focuses on Long Term Care Issues and Dementia. He is passionate about contributing to neurodegenerative epidemiology.
