Hungry Cities Partnership Report on Nairobi’s Urban Food System is Published

The Hungry Cities Partnership Report No. 6, The Urban Food System of Nairobi, Kenya, was posted to the HCP website. It was co-authored by Samuel Owuor, Andrea Brown, Jonathan Crush, Bruce Frayne and Jeremy Wagner. The report provides an overview of Nairobi’s geography, demography, land use and population distribution, its formal and informal economic sectors and the issues of poverty. It also depicts how the urban food system works in Nairobi and the urban food security situation. It highlights how the city-wide surveys of the HCP will contribute to the existing studies of Nairobi’s food insecurity and urban food system.
