HCP’s Liam Riley and Jonathan Crush publish new book “Transforming Urban Food Systems in Secondary Cities in Africa”

HCP’s Liam Riley and Jonathan Crush (editors) publish the book “Transforming Urban Food Systems in Secondary Cities in Africa“. This open-access book is a product of the Food, Urbanization, Environment and Livelihoods (FUEL) Project of the African Food Security Urban Network (AFSUN) funded by an Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Chapters in this book address the challenge of building inclusive and sustainable cities in the context of rapid urbanization; examine implications of secondary urbanization as it poses governance challenges for policy-makers; and discuss implications for food security of rapidly growing secondary cities in Africa.
