Stellah Mukhovi

Stellah Mukhovi is a post-doctoral scholar and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Population and Environmental Studies, University of Nairobi, Kenya. She is a human geographer with a PhD from the University of Nairobi. She is a mentor with Food Systems Research Network-Africa (FSNet-Africa), and Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS). Her research focuses on food security, gender issues, food systems, resilience, food sustainability, rural-urban linkages, livelihoods, and right to food. Her post-doctoral research on food systems resilience and local food system sustainable transformation is funded by Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development. In addition, she is interested on how research contributes to transformation at community and policy levels. While her research activities are multidisciplinary, she has a strong belief in transdisciplinary approach where scientists work with societal actors to create sustainable solutions in food systems.
