Andrea Brown

Dr. Andrea M. Brown is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science and North American Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University and is affiliated to the Balsillie School of International Affairs. Her research focuses on urban governance in East Africa, principally Uganda. She is particularly interested in the nexus between urban food security with sustainable development, gender and governance, and the multi-level policy environments supporting anti-poverty measures.  Her most recent publications explore the potential of co-productive urban planning as a strategy to empower urban populations living in informal settlements to address food insecurity and poverty.
